Crisis mood? Your voice decides whether you are heard.

The other day, a managing director sat in front of me, visibly stressed and in the middle of a crisis. What he wanted to say was perfectly clear to him. He knew exactly where the company was headed. But his team just hadn't heard him.

"I'm doing something completely wrong. Am I too massive?"

Do you know this moment?

You have clarity in your head. You know what your team needs now. You know the strategy, the next step. But when you say it – it doesn't get through. There is no reaction. Instead of relief, you see uncertainty. Doubt. Uneasiness.

In these moments, I often see my clients blinking desperately. "But I said exactly how important it is!"

And this is exactly where – when we work together on it – the magic moment . That's the moment I love my work for.

Because the solutions have long been within you: your understanding of leadership, your reflection, your knowledge of what needs to be done now. Everything is there. But it must also be audible, tangible and visible.

Leadership needs audible clarity – especially in times of crisis

What happens in crisis situations is always the same: your team is looking for support. Customers want orientation. Everyone wants to know: Can I trust you? Are you sure in what you're saying?

Here it is not only what you say, but above all how You say it.

Because: 70% of our perception of security comes from tonality and Body language – not by words.

You can have the best answers – if they are not conveyed clearly, calmly and convincingly, they remain ineffective.

Three strategies that immediately close the gap between inner clarity and outer effect

1. Lead the vote – don't follow

When uncertainty is in the air, many tend to adapt – fatal! Instead: Let your voice radiate stability.

How does that work?

  • Pay attention to your physical Presence , consciously let a deeper, calm pitch emerge from it.
  • Don't let the situation drive you. Pause again and again, use the Scythe Focusing principle – this gives your voice control.
  • While speaking, pay attention to the small reactions, this creates pauses in speech and reaction . They reinforce clarity.

💡 Practical tip: People with a resonant voice are perceived as more competent. Use this consciously.

Come to the voice espresso: 15 minutes that provide clarity:

2. Use the "empathy echo"

People often feel overrun in crises. If you show empathy and lead at the same time, security is created.

  • Don't respond or contradict immediately if you have a Objection Hear. This makes you seem weak in leadership.
  • Resist the pressure to react. Listen to you attentive what is being said. Leave the listening signal audible "Mmhm?! arise.
  • Nodding, I repeat three or four words of what I have just heard, embedded in two listening Mmhm's. With this echo, subtly demand more detail, more background to the objection.
  • Repeat the game until you have a good understanding of your opponent's motivations.
  • Now ask your counterpart a clever, solution-oriented question.

💡 Why does this work? The brain mirrors emotions. Your calmness is transferred to your team.

3. Be precise – no empty phrases!

Vague statements such as "We are working on a solution" increase insecurity.

Better:

  • "We have decided on three measures. The first one will be implemented tomorrow."
  • "Our priority is clarity. That's why you'll receive weekly updates from now on."

💡 Practical tip: Clear announcements provide security. Blurred communication is frightening.

I look forward to accompanying you on your journey. Talk to me about your challenges over an espresso ☕.
