Voice has power. Voice works. Always. It lets us hear who we are and relentlessly reveals what we think and feel. It creates connection – or it separates. Depending on which sounds we produce, we work very well or not so well. Our voice powerfully, but unconsciously, creates sympathy and Persuasiveness . Our voice subtly influences all results, be it in customer contact, negotiations, presentations and, of course, increasingly in media appearances.
In public life of any kind, the voice factor is of immense importance. Especially in the public life of politics. The success of politicians is always especially dependent on the secret seducer voice!
Actually, I blog not to political events abroad. However, on the occasion of the parliamentary elections that have just been held in Israel, I felt inspired to think the following thoughts ... Elections in Israel are without a doubt always a very explosive matter. Whoever wins it also influences world politics to a large extent. In Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu has once again emerged as the winner of this election. With a far greater distance to his challenger than the polls assumed in advance. The reasons for this lead are highly political and certainly numerous. However, that is not my topic or focus in this post.
I find it interesting as voice coach from the point of view of appearance and effect, the challenger Isaac Herzog. Zeit online reports in original sound: "When Herzog finally enters the stage silently, he quickly begins a speech that he delivers without much zeal." And further in the text of the ZEIT: "... "all this sounds convincing – Herzog is not inspiring, he buries his hand in his trouser pocket." This doesn't really sound like an appearance that would make wavering voters defect ... The thought of "Well delivered" forced itself on me. However, this is not enough on the stages of this world, whatever they may look like, wherever they are.
However, what really shocks me: Herzog was probably forced to justify his high voice in an election TV spot during the election campaign. I ask myself: Why does a man in the public eye try to justify something instead of changing it? A few hours with a good voice coach are enough to give the voice so much volume and core that the new lower timbre inspires much more confidence in a person's capacities!
And it is precisely this trust was apparently not available in sufficient quantities. The majority of voters could not imagine this man as commander-in-chief in drastic times – probably also due to the weak performance and the equally weakening voice ...
Hence my appeal: If you have more in your life Persuasiveness want to achieve, work with your voice, work on your voice. Use your very own, personal, secret seducer and become even more successful!
