Warming-up for professionals
VIDEO TRAINING FOR SEMINAR PARTICIPANTS
With the five video courses that you will receive weekly from today, you can refresh your seminar experiences. In this way, you will deepen your knowledge once again and master your next conversations and performances with flying colors!
These are the five topics at a glance:
- The power of voice and body language
- Eigenton: Relationship signal of your voice
- Speaking in a room-filling and understandable way
- Warming-up for professionals
- Strategies against nervousness
I look forward to your active participation!
Warming-up for the voice
When you follow a presentation as a listener, it is the overall effect of the person in front that forms the first impression:
- How confident does the speaker seem?
- How competent does he seem to me?
- Do I feel that expression and behavior are appropriate for the occasion?
- What do his posture, his way of speaking and his voice convey?
In this first video impulse, I remind you of the three zones that allow a lively voice, gestures and way of speaking:
Unconsciously, the stability of your statements is conveyed through your body language. You may remember the experiment in the workshop, and how even a little nudge initially threw you out of your point of view... A good, solid stance, on the other hand, not only conveys security, but is also the starting point for freeing gestures and speaking lively:
- Stand stably on both feet
- Loosen your knees so that you are flexible and balanced in the "hula hoop zone" (this activates the muscles in the lower back)
- Now open your gaze to your conversation partner: You feel your upper body coming forward a little expectantly, as if you were waiting to catch a thought
- Your shoulders and neck are relaxed, your arms spontaneously fall down and become ready for impulsive, relaxed gestures that will perfectly underline your words
- The entire body feel is light and flexible while being firmly anchored to your point of view.
Three zones for a convincing vocal sound
WARMING-UP FOR THE VOICE
If muscles are not moved for a long time, they contract, become shorter and thicker. By the way, this is also the reason why most people stretch and stretch out in the morning. The same applies to the muscles involved in vocalization.
How and where do you activate your muscles so that they are energetic and make your voice sound powerful and confident? You need three zones (from bottom to top):
- breathing and all muscles that serve to straighten up, move and make gestures
- the vocalization, i.e. the larynx and the fine control muscles of the vocal folds
- articulation, i.e. mouth, throat and facial expressions
Do you spontaneously think that all this is far too time-consuming and takes too long? Wait and see – that's exactly why I've put together flash activations for you, with which you can get your voice fit quickly, easily and almost incidentally.
Mental warming-up
Tension and stress affect the voice, making it sound higher and a little tighter. The previously mentioned lightning warm-up exercises will help you loosen up your muscles and body. Allow yourself to let go mentally for a moment and to "warm up" mentally, so to speak.
Your benefit:
- Vocal self-confidence is not rocket science: Just 3 minutes of daily voice fitness training brings audible success – and lots of good humour!
- Important: At the beginning, make sure that you are alone and undisturbed while babbling and fooling around. By the way, many warm-up exercises can be wonderfully integrated into everyday life (in the bathroom in the morning, while driving, etc.).
By the way: Have you ever paid attention to how grumpy and uninspired many voices sound in the morning? Are you ready to make a statement? – Voice sets the mood!
My personal CD tip on the subject:
"Good morning, voice!"
On this training CD you can expect a tailor-made exercise program of 20 minutes that optimally prepares your voice for a long day in the office, on the phone, in a meeting or even at home. The other 20 minutes of explanations help to understand the individual exercises. Stimulating music, my voice and practical exercises make the CD a good companion for the day – whether at home, in the car or elsewhere!
