As in sales, the requirement profile "extroverted, big mouth, very word-oriented" etc. On closer inspection, today it is less about "beautiful speech", about "good speaking", than about measurable results on the listener or customer side. It doesn't matter whether the speech is beautiful, but what it triggers in the audience, what action steps take place after the presentation. It is more important and effective if the speaker is able to listen to his audience think while speaking than to follow all the rules of classical rhetoric in high-pitched High German and basically leave his audience out in the cold. Good speakers are like good salespeople: they think less about their content and artful ways of speaking than about the concerns and wishes of their listeners. Because a good listener talks about what moves his listeners.
